CNA certification in Connecticut requires you to take CNA classes. You must also take and pass the test.
The Connecticut Department of Health oversees the classes and testing. They work with Prometric to design and conduct the test.

The program is around 100 hours. It is divided between classroom lecture and clinical training.
After completing the program, you will apply to take the test through Prometric’s website. The test includes a written and practical section.
You can work as a CNA while in training for up to 120 days. During that time, you must complete the training and pass the test.
You must take the CNA test within one year of completing the program.

If you are working as a paid CNA at least 8 hours a day, your license will not expire. If you stop working as a CNA for 2 years or more, you will need to renew your license.
